The game which changes your life
Darplay is a game for developing communication skills, encouraging creative talking and listening!
What do you need to play Darplay?
The wonderful thing about Darplay is that it is so simple. You just need a three minute hourglass and two or more people in order to play.
How do you play Darplay?
The rules are very simple. The participants take turns speaking for three minutes. When one person is speaking, the other participants listen quietly and attentively.
The speaker can choose the topic for discussion. Each player decides what to share with the others, what to narrate, and what to express about a given subject.
For an interesting and fun way to select the topic, write down some topics or questions on small pieces of paper (for best results, try different colored paper). Turn the pieces of paper over and shuffle them. The speaker then chooses one of the pieces of paper and discusses that topic or answers that question on the piece of paper. The number of questions and topics is only limited by your own imagination. You never have to play the same game twice.
What is the goal of the Darplay game?
The goal of the game is not competition, but better communication. Even if you play a single round, you’ll see how interesting it is to put yourself in the role of the speaker as well as the listener.
