Darplay Training, January 28, 2011

The training was for school directors, teachers, pedagogical advisors, parents, students who were divided in four groups. Out of the 95 reviews by the participants, one was negative (the teacher wrote that the questions were too personal), 10 were undecided and the rest were all positive. Here are some:

- The method is accessible, interesting and useful. It stimulates the expression of sincerity, tolerance, sympathy in human relations. The internal reflection which it will cause, will lead to better communication and provoke goodwill and desire to be helpful, to be oneself, or to change.

- The Darplay game is an interesting method of communication. In a very short time I learned a lot about the others in the game. We shared a lot of problems about secondary education and I dare to say that I made some conclusions that will certainly help me in this work. The questions which we spoke about were also on interesting topics and this helped us to have fun, and also learn a lot about each other at the same time.

- The time I spent here was useful. I think Darplay achieved its goal of improving communication skills. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet people who shared their views and life experiences, whether they are close to my worldview or not. Teacher

- The Darplay training is useful. This is a lively and interesting way to diversify the school classes. I think children will like it because they love to play. Thus they will become accustomed to respect the speaker, to be patient and tolerant to their classmates. The time and activities for me were interesting, useful and relaxing. I wish the Darplay team fruitful work in the future. Teacher

- I liked the game a lot and I think that is an excellent way to diversify the learning process. I was placed in groups with people who I know and those I met for the first time. In both cases, I learned something new about them, how they think. What impressed me were my own answers to questions that everyone asks, but never finds an exact answer. - From my brief acquaintance with Darplay I think it is a useful and interesting game for training communication skills. It could find good use in the educational work in our school. - Darplay is a way to communicate for shy people, a challenge for their inner voice. The game for me is fun and at the same time a way to get to know the people I work with for example. I think the children will be delighted to apply the method in the Class Hour and this would be an incredible opportunity to explore in depth their qualities, attitudes, etc. Thank you for the opportunity to participate!

- Darplay is new to me. It was very interesting and fun. I had the opportunity to meet new people and interact with them. I felt better. I am delighted with the Darplay team, which presented the game in an interesting manner and carried it out very well. I support this method and I think that is applicable in school. - Despite my short experience in applying this method, I think it forms listening skills, disciplines and builds mutual respect. Perhaps there are many other things but to find them it is necessary to gain more experience in applying the method in different situations. School Director

- The game is interesting. It allows one to overcome the shyness and talk to strangers. The spontaneous sharing of an opinion on a question which is drawn is an opportunity to present one’s thoughts sincerely. The opportunity to talk without being interrupted, is also a positive emotion, because you will not feel uncomfortable when you are interrupted. The game is an opportunity to share feelings, even when you don’t feel well. Teacher

- I am happy that I found myself in two groups of young people through the Darplay game. I am delighted by the speeches of my former students Nelly and Plamena. I’m calm about the future as there are young people with such an understanding and attitude about the future of Bulgaria! Primary school teacher

- The Darplay method is an innovative means of expression, which can be used very successfully in a family environment. Especially teenage children have problems that are rarely shared with their parents. By this method in an easy and interesting way the parents could help and understand them. P.S. - The method provides a new way of communicating in a group. Surely this is an opportunity to explore the person next to you and an opportunity for personal expression.

- I think the game will be particularly useful for students who are from poor families, aggressive, without a value system. Their mode of communication is usually accompanied by violence and threats. And this game could shape tolerance and respect among children.

- Impressions of the game:

3. The atmosphere is intimate, the partners with good intentions and sincere.
4. Time passed quickly.
5. The game manages to get the good out of people, makes them noble.

- As a man of science I am used less to speaking, but I found that I can talk longer (3 minutes seemed a long time). The surprise is pleasant. The method is suitable for students to learn to listen (a skill they lack), at the same time they will always learn something new about others, themselves, the outside world. - My impression of the game: 1. I can apply it in school. As a teacher in biology and health education, I have many hours to solve various health cases, i.e. I can successfully implement it in class. 2. Since the school in which I work, is with predominantly Roma students, I believe that games and entertainment will attract their attention and time will be more beneficial. 3. For myself it is important to overcome shyness and to freely express my thoughts and feelings without being bothered by the fact that I will not be heard and understood. - I am extremely pleased to participate in today’s training. Both short and dynamic. The method can successfully be part of a process of self-understanding, mutual respect and sharing of common interests and goals. The opportunity provided by the method to learn the patience to listen, not to judge and not to express a position regarding the speakers is a tutorial for tolerance.

- I think the Darplay game is very interesting and very useful for both children and adults alike, as direct communication with others becomes more difficult. This is a major problem in families, leading to social exclusion of children and a difficult integration into society as a whole. The training held was – short, concise, clear and useful.
